ASCP is proud to launch “Basic Medical Laboratory Skills,” a new eLearning series designed to empower new lab team members with essential knowledge. With 1.0 CMLE credit offered per course and free access in the ASCP Store, this CMLE-bearing series dives into the core building blocks of medical laboratory work: Laboratory Safety, Laboratory Terminology, Laboratory Math, Basic Operations of Laboratory Equipment, Routine Procedures, and Quality Control.

Each beginner-friendly course blends foundational learning with practical, case-based examples – perfect for team members new to the medical laboratory or wanting to brush up on some skills. Courses are offered individually to provide flexible enrollment options aligned with each learner’s needs and preferences.

How to Register for Course(s):

To register for this course, you need an ASCP account for the ASCP Store. If you don’t have one, click the button below to create a free account.
After obtaining a free ASCP account, register for the course(s) using the following instructions:
  1. Follow the ASCP Store link below to enroll in each course of interest:
    1. Laboratory Safety
    2. Laboratory Terminology
    3. Laboratory Math
    4. Basic Operations of Laboratory Equipment
    5. Routine Procedures
    6. Quality Control
  2. For each course that you would like to enroll in, use the following instructions:
    1. Add the class to the cart
    2. Click the Checkout button
    3. Click the “I’m not a robot” button
    4. Click the Submit button
    5. You will see a screen that says Home and My Account, click on My Account
    6. On the My Account page, there’s a section that says My Education, click on the blue button that says My Courses
    7. You’ll see a list of courses on the next page that you are registered for
    8. Click the button that says Launch or Start next to the name of the course
    9. Then you will be taken to the LMS to start the class
    10. Following completion of the course, course credit will be visible on the Dashboard page, under the section that says My Education, and the button that says Certificates & Transcript
